Ansel Wayne Lahti passed away on December 11th, 2015, in Warrenton, Oregon. Ansel was born on October 13, 1930 to his parents Wayne and Lenore (Sundquist) Lahti in Astoria, Oregon. Ansel graduated from Warrenton High School in 1949 and after graduation enlisted in the United States Army.
Ansel followed in his Dad's footstep becoming a commercial fisherman. He loved being on the ocean fishing for salmon, tuna and in the fall crabbing.
Ansel lived a full and exciting life. He enjoyed all of those special hunting trips in the fall. He enjoyed the camping and being around all of his friends more than the hunting. One year Ansel was King of the camp with landing the trophy deer which had the biggest set of antlers.
Ansel was preceded in death by his parents; Wayne and Lenore Lahti; his wife; LaVona (Pidcock) Lahti; son Terry Lee Manary. Ansel is survived by his daughter; Susan (Manary) Johnson and her husband Irvin; 4 grandchildren Terry, Jason, Jenny, and Drew. He had 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He will be sorely missed.
