Chester Allen Poppenhouse

Chester Allen Poppenhouse was born in Litchfield, Illinois on July 29, 1958 to Carl & Flora (Emmons) Poppenhouse. Litchfield was where Chester spent his formative years attending and graduating from Litchfield High School as the class of 1977. Chester enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably for four years. In 1985 he married Cheries Elaine Page but later divorced. Chester ended up moving to Astoria in 2006. Chester entered into rest on December 31, 2018 at the age of 60. Chester was preceded in death by his father, Carl Lee Poppenhouse and his brothers Stephen Kelly Poppenhouse & Michael Lee Poppenhouse. He is survived by his Mother Flora Poppenhouse; Sister, Cecelia Pitchford of Astoria, OR; Daughter, Tricia Swafford of Decatur, IL and Step Son Corie of Portland, OR. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hughes-Ransom Mortuaries & Crematory, Astoria. There are no immediate funeral services however a celebration of life is in the process of being planned (Time, Date and Place TBD).
