Colleen Mae Schinderle

June 16, 1942 — October 22, 2013

Colleen Mae Schinderle died peacefully at the age of 71 early Tuesday morning at her home with her beloved husband, daughter and son with her. She was the fourth of six children born to Ralph and Ethel Brown in St. Helens, Oregon on June 16, 1942. She was a long time Clatsop County resident living in Gearhart, Astoria and finally Hammond.
Colleen graduated from Seaside High School and worked at both Bumble Bee Seafood and Astoria Seafood before retiring. She belonged to both the Astoria Moose Chapter 422 and the Astoria American Legion Post 12. Colleen loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She was also an avid collector of angels.
Colleen is survived by her husband Jerome Schinderle of Hammond; her daughter, Lori Schinderle of Portland; her son Richard Schinderle and wife Jennifer of Sacramento as well as 3 grandchildren, Kyle, McKenna and Tanner; sister, Pat Nichols of Warrenton; sister, Dorothy LaPrairie of Springfield; brother, Vernon Brown of Tillamook; brother, Ernie Brown of Marietta, Georgia and countless nieces and nephews.
Colleen was preceded in death by her youngest child Wendi Sue Schinderle and her brother Ralph Brown Jr.
Colleen will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was gentle, kind and loved by all she came in contact with. She will be missed dearly.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 25th at 3:00pm at The Moose Lodge in Astoria. Those who desire may donate in memory of Colleen Schinderle to Seaside Kids, Inc., PO Box 275, Seaside, Oregon, 97138.
