Dallas C McGrath

April 15, 1947 — April 1, 2013

Dallas McGrath (age 83) passed away at St. Vincents Hospital, Beaverton, Oregon, on April 1, 2013.
Dallas was born in Yuma County, Colorado, to Otis Darrell McGrath and Stella Bell McGrath (Higgins).
Dallas married Wanda McGrath (Parks) on April 15, 1947, being just short of 66 years of "Wonderful Marriage." Dallas was a very religious person and always put God first throughout all of his life. He loved old time Gospel hymns, singing and playing his Gibson guitar with his cousin, Clarence Flemister.
He started out in Colorado as a farmer and rancher working on hundreds of acres, most of which were all done by a lot of hard work and sweat. He later worked on road construction operating several different machines. The family moved to Prineville, Oregon, in 1958. Dallas worked in the sawmill for several years and later as a rock shovel operator throughout most of Oregon. In 1964, the family moved to the Seaside area. He worked as a shovel operator doing various jobs for Crown Zellerbach and Cavenham. His nickname was "Mac."
He enjoyed fishing in their boat, the "Wanda Lee," traveling, hunting and rock collecting throughout Oregon. He loved spending time with family and relatives.
He is survived by Wanda McGrath, wife, Seaside, Oregon. Don McGrath, son, Portland, Oregon. Dan McGrath, son, Portland, Oregon. Sharon Kabanuk, daughter, Warrenton, Oregon. Daniel McGrath, grandson, Pe Ell, Washington. Dallas Jr. McGrath, great-grandson, Pe Ell, Washington. Andy McGrath, grandson, Pe Ell, Washington. Douglas McGrath, great-grandson, Pe Ell, Washington. Kaya Palmer, granddaughter, Regina, Saskatchewan. Seth McGrath, grandson, Astoria, Oregon. John McGrath, grandson, Warrenton, Oregon, and many other relatives.
He is preceded in death by Otis Darrell McGrath (father), Stella Bell McGrath (mother), and brother, Ronald McGrath, and a sister who passed away shortly after birth.
We all loved you so very much and miss you with all our hearts. The greatest husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather in the whole wide world. The "Best of the Best!!"
