Deanna Harden

January 31, 1947 — June 18, 2022

Deanna Marie Harden, aged 75, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at her home in Seaside, Oregon.
Deanna was born January 31, 1947 in Twin Falls, Idaho to George and Edna Alvey. Deanna was the youngest girl in her family of seven children. She remained in the southern Idaho area throughout her childhood and on January 6, 1976, Deanna married David James Harden in Kimberly, Idaho. Her husband, David, was in the Marine Corps and they moved around the country for several years before settling in western Oregon in 1984. Deanna and David owned a home in the Elsie area for over thirty years.
Deanna was a kind and loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and great-grandmother. She was known for her welcoming smile and good heart. Deanna had many things she enjoyed such as trips to the beach, chocolate, Golden Eagle coffees from Dutch Bros (decaf, extra caramel, and extra whip!), and visiting with her church friends. But what Deanna loved the very most was spending time with her family. Deanna had five children: Annette Thomas of Portland, Oregon; Scott Thomas of Seaside, Oregon; Kimberly Johnson of Warrenton, Oregon; Alecia Rock of Bliss, Idaho; and David Harden of Gooding, Idaho. Deanna had twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Deanna was survived by her sister Shirley Merchant and two brothers, Ronald Alvey and Gene Alvey. She was preceded in death by her three siblings Leonard Alvey, Lawrence (Sonny) Alvey and Florence Evans.
Deanna was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held fast to her faith. She believed that this world was temporary and one day she would join her Heavenly family which she considered her home. Though she will be greatly missed by those left behind, her loved ones take great peace and solace in this fact.

A visitation for Deanna will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00am in the Relief Society room of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1403 S. Wahanna Road, Seaside, Oregon 97138. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00am at the church and be immediatley followed by a committal at her final resting place at Evergreen Cemetery, 33540 Beerman Road, Seaside, Oregon 97138. Tributes of love such as flowers and cards can be sent to the church prior to the service, or directly to her home in care of David Harden. Address provided upon request.

“I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes would see
When Your face is before me…
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine…
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You…
I can only imagine

Psalm 116:15
“I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications…The pains of death surrounded me, and the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow. Then I called upon the name of the Lord…Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yes our God is merciful… He saved me. Return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you. For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling…I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord… precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints… Praise the Lord!”
