Geraldine (Geri) L. Chisholm, a long time resident and businesswoman of Seaside, OR passed away on June 11th at the age of 91 and in the loving care of her family. Geri was born in Astoria, Oregon on November 12, 1923, one of three children of George F. and Augusta Peeke. She was raised in Astoria and as a child and young adult was a member of Grace Episcopal Church where she played the piano and sang solo on many occasions. Geri married John (Bud) Chisholm. Together they had four children, Florence, Richard, Robert and Frances. Bud and Geri built/remodeled and operated numerous family businesses over the years. Faithful customers always seemed to find them. Later in years, Geri taught herself, with the help of many friends, to play bridge. She loved the company of her friends and often brought treats on card playing days. Pinochle was always a game that she enjoyed playing with her family and on Sundays at the Elks Lodge. Geri was a beautiful person and her kind soul was evident in all that she did for many young people, including those beyond her family. She has been a member of Calvary Episcopal Church for years. Surely the heavens have gained a wonderful lady. Geri is survived by her brother, Harvey (Donna) Peeke of Woodburn, her children, Florence (Jerry) Bell of Portland, Richard (Carol) Chisholm of Medford, Frances (Rocky) Rockwell of Elko, NV, her daughter-in-law, Darlene Chisholm of Gearhart, John and Joan Beneke of Gearhart, Ruby Bradley of Portland and John & Sandy Bradley of Nevada. Step-children Morgan ( Tiffanie) Poyser, Jerry Poyser Jr., Galen Poyser and Tobi Ann Haynes. She is also survived by her grandchildren Carey Beneke, Kristen Pestridge, Steven Beneke, Amy McMahan, Kim Chisholm, Lori Chisholm, Angie Hamilton, Julie Jones, Jeff Chisholm, Rob Chisholm, Shane Rockwell, Shannon Knudsen, Jason Rockwell and Jef VanArsdall. Step-grandchildren Ava Poyser, Emerson Poyser, Hayley Poyser and Jeremy Haynes. She has 26 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her, husband John (Bud) Chisholm; son, Bob Chisholm, her second husband, Ronald Gerald Poyser and her brother, Dr. George O. Peeke; brother-in-laws; Don Chisholm and Dick Dybvik. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, 503 N. Holladay Dr, Seaside at 1:30 on Saturday, June 20th. A private interment will follow. Friends are invited to join Geri's family at the Seaside Elks Lodge for an informal, no host, get together starting at 5:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Bob Chisholm Senior Center, the Gearhart Volunteer Fire Dept, the Seaside Volunteer Fire Department, the Seaside Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund or to a charity of one's choice.
