Gloria H. Nelson

Gloria H. Nelson passed with peace and grace on May 23 at the age of 86. Her loving husband Norman and her devoted son Paul preceded her in death. Gloria leaves behind son Scott (Lisa) Nelson, daughter Diane (Paul) DuCommun, daughter-in-law Kathy Nelson and grandchildren Travis (Joy) Nelson, Nicholas (Stephen) Nelson, and Stefan (Amber) Nelson and four great grandchildren, three step-grandsons, and nine step-grandchildren. Gloria was born January 21, 1931 to Theodore and Helen Thompson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She spent most of her life living as a free and loving spirit enjoying the vast views of the Pacific Ocean. Gloria's greatest passion of life was sharing her hobbies and talents with the world. She always loved her time with her Great Danes and her infectious smile showed through when she spent time with her best friends and companions through the years. She was a talented musician with a beautiful voice who enjoyed singing and playing the piano for her church and never missed the opportunity to share her talent with others. Gloria enjoyed supporting the Seattle and Oregon Symphonies and performing in The Tillamook Community Chorus. She was an avid baseball fan who loved her Seattle Mariners and enjoyed treating others to a game. Gloria always loved a little healthy competition between baseball teams. Gloria has departed this world but her light will forever shine to all that had the privilege of knowing her. She now has her angel wings and is enjoying her beloved view of the Pacific Ocean. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 2:00pm at St Alban's Episcopal Church, 2102 6th St, Tillamook, OR. Reception to immediately follow. Memorial donations may be made to Tillamook Adventist Medical Center Hospice.
