Jean Elizabeth Brownlee Parson Cannon Beach June 27, 1922 - December 28, 2018
Jean Elizabeth Brownlee Parson passed from this world December 28, 2018. She was greatly loved and is greatly missed. Beloved mother to Lesley Daoud, beloved grandmother to Kari Gulvin (Michael) and Derek Parson, beloved great-grandmother to Joshua Gulvin (Janessa), Taylor Gulvin and Kennedy Gulvin, beloved sister to Joe Brownlee (Nancy) and John Brownlee, and beloved friend to Jane Ries. Jean was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She attended high school in England and went to college at the University of Kansas, where she majored in Economics. There she met Clifford Wayne Parson. They married in the Harvard University Chapel on November 12, 1943. After the war, they lived in Topeka, Kansas, then moved to Portland, Oregon in 1956. Jean lived in Portland after Cliff passed away in 1985. She moved to Cannon Beach in 2003, where she lived with her daughter Lesley, until her death. Jean loved living at the beach, and Cannon Beach had always been one of her favorite places. She was happy to spend her last years in such a beautiful, safe city. A private celebration will be held at her graveside at Willamette National Cemetery.
