Jordan Duane Strickland (you might know him as Joe) passed away on July 10, 2015 in Hollywood, California. He was the loving son of David and Kerry Strickland (Knappa, OR), brother to Shawn and Sheena Humphreys (Long Beach, WA), Natasha and Del Thompson (Astoria, OR), Cody Strickland (Knappa, OR), Michael Strickland and Jennifer Ashenberner (Portland, OR), Grandson to Joe and Delores Raymer (Garibaldi, OR.), Nephew to Gary and Kristy Baird (Warrenton, OR), Cindy Strickland (Warrenton, OR.), Marlene and Willie Travis (Caldwell Idaho), Tom Strickland (Beaverton, OR), Gary Strickland (Kentucky) and many cousins. Jordan loved being called "Uncle" by Brenden, Caiden, Aubrey, Zachary, Carter, Mason, Laila, Evan, Soren and (Aaron who preceded him in death in 2014). Jordan grew up in Knappa, OR and graduated from Knappa High School in 2008. He was a natural athlete who loved all sports, one hundred percent a Beaver's fan (sorry Duck's) and a Seattle Seahawks fanatic. He loved playing baseball and spent his high school career playing catcher. He was an avid outdoorsman and went on many hunting adventures with his brothers and father. After graduation he followed in his father's footsteps and pursued his passion for fishing. This eventually led him to a career as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. He enjoyed quality time with his family and had a special bond with his mom. His friends say he was a strong "dude" who inspired confidence and laughter. He was a funny guy. He relocated to Hollywood in 2015. During this time he lived a peaceful life and found happiness. He worked in construction; remodeling houses and met a lot of wonderful friends he calls family. He was always ready for an adventure and loved a challenge. We will remember him as a compassionate, hardworking, kind and gentle soul who loved people unconditionally. Jordan shared his courage, strength and hope with others and his family asks that you honor his memory by doing the same. There will be a celebration of life held at Knappa High School on Saturday, July 25th at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to, Knappa Sports Foundation (Knappa, OR), Deep Sea Fisherman's Benefit Fund (Warrenton, OR.), and Klean Caf (which provides resources for addiction recovery & uninsured individuals in any state and any treatment facility) Hollywood, CA.
