Louann C Riggan

d. May 4, 2013

"In heavenly love abiding, no change my heart shall fear,
The storm may roar without me, my heart may low be laid,
But God is round about me, how could I be dismayed?"
Louann Copeland Riggan, of Surf Pines, Oregon, passed away May 4th, 2013. She died surrounded by those she loved. Louann is survived by her husband Ace, daughter Debra, sons Mike and John, son-in-law Kelly Gordon, daughters-in-law Karen and Chris Riggan, sister and brother-in-law Fredna and Arthur Stromberg, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Louann was a longtime member of the North Coast Community. As a teacher, guidance counselor, and Special Needs Services Coordinator, Louann served children and families in the Clatsop County School Districts.
Louann was a passionate public servant who touched the lives of multitudes of children. Her great humor, compassion, and joy for her work, especially for students and members of the community with special needs, improved the lives of those fortunate to be touched by this phenomenal person. Louanns life was characterized by a great love for the North Coasts natural beauty, the animals she rescued, and her family and friends.
Louanns faith was extremely important to her. Her daily study of Christian Science was the primary source of her great love, service, and compassion.
We will miss her exuberance and optimism as she greeted each day "dancing, prancing, and singing a song."
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Astoria Golf and Country Club on Saturday, May 11th, at 2 p.m.
