Lucille Dorothy "Lucy" Sporter, 97, of Seaside, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in Seaside.
She was born April 18, 1915, in Eveleth, Minn., to Nicholas A. and Anna (Buonaiuto) Constantine.
In 1934, she graduated from Eveleth High School. She graduated from Minnesota State Teachers College in 1938, then the University of Minnesota in Duluth in 1968, with a bachelors degree in elementary education.
On Jan. 20, 1945, she married William Woodrow Sporter in Eveleth. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sporter was an elementary school teacher. She retired from St. Louis County Schools (Cherry School) in 1975.
She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Eveleth, Catholic Daughters No. 1888, the Catholic Society of Foresters and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary No. 1172.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susanne and Pete Daggett of Cannon Beach; two grandsons, Hunter Daggett and his wife, Amanda, of Nairobi, Kenya, and Jake Daggett and his wife, Heather, of San Diego; two great-granddaughters, Indira and Lilith Daggett of Nairobi; and two sisters-in-law, Joleen Constantine of Eveleth and Laverne Sporter of Bossier City, La.
She was preceded in death by a son, Philip Sporter; three brothers; and a sister.
A funeral Mass will be held at a later date in Eveleth.
Interment will be at the Eveleth Cemetery.
