Nancy Patricia Arrington passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022 at Adventist Health Tillamook Hospital.
Born March 1, 1945 in Canton, NC to Lenoir Wallace (Wally) Arrington and Hilda Mae Norris Arrington. She was the second child of three daughters.
She completed her GED and received a certification for Dietitian Assistant at Clark Community College in Vancouver, WA. Nancy had many careers during her life. First and foremost she was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother affectionately known as GG. She worked for the City of Vancouver for Meals On Wheels. She was assistant head cook at Memorial Hospital in Vancouver, WA. She was the food and beverage assistant manager at Spirit Mountain Casino when they opened. Her last and longest job was as Property Manager at Rock Creek Inn Condos in Rockaway Beach, Or where she retired in 2017. She loved living on the Oregon coast.
Nancy married Billy Frank Thomas of Polkton, NC on August 18, 1962. They had four children and divorced in 1986. They reunited in 1988 and remained together until he passed away in 2000.
Her faith in Jesus and her family were the most important parts of her life.She truly was this little light of mine and always let it shine.
She was a longtime charity supporter of Wounded Veterans and Shriners. She was a volunteer for senior meals in Rockaway Beach, OR.
She never hesitated to help her family and friends with financial or spiritual assistance and always had words of wisdom and encouragement to share.
Nancy was predeceased by both of her parents, her ex-husband and her eldest son Todd Lenior Thomas.
She is survived by her sisters Anita Arrington Kryzwicki of Mills River, NC and Donna Arrington Shumolis of Arden, NC. Her children Elaine and Robert Quitugua of Rockaway Beach, OR; Bryan Thomas and Ann Bennett of Gleneden Beach, OR; Tim Thomas and Judy Bravo of Jefferson, OR.
Her grandchildren Brad Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Luke Osborn, Marcus Thomas, Kiana Kupfer, Kiefer Thomas, Noah Thomas, Luke Quitugua, Medina Quitugua Angobung, Melissa Quitugua, Eli Goodman, Cristen Thomas, Jacob Thomas and Jordyn Michaels, and 17 great grandchildren.
Nancy will be laid to rest in Cowlitz County Cemetery in Castle Rock, WA at a later date.
