Renee Gross
Born 1924 and died 2017.
Renee was born in San Francisco to Richard and Berenice Gross. She attended Lowell High School. Earned a degree in Microbiology at University of California Berkeley. Worked in public health for the CDC & University of Alaska in Juneau and Fairbanks. Renee retired and then traveled the US by RV with her beloved cat named Jade. She later published a travelogue of her cross-country adventures. She often wintered with her friends in Kingsville TX. Settling in Mt. Vernon WA and finally in Seaside OR.
An avid Bridge Player she was a member of Juneau, Fairbanks, Mt Vernon, & Seaside ACBL Clubs. She attended numerous Contract Bridge Tournaments across the country. In high school Renee and her twin sister Ella were All Western Team Four Champs, winning at historic Treasure Island. As an adult she achieved her goal of becoming a Life Master. She was an evangelist for the game until the very end, inviting everyone she met to come and play Bridge.
She was a nature lover, and passionate supporter of the ASPCA & Animal Advocate Groups around the globe.
Renee was preceded in death by her sister Jean Gross. Survived by her sister Ella Driscoll and niece Danielle Driscoll. Family & friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Saturday September 30th at 3:30 pm at Hughes-Ransom Mortuary in Seaside OR.
