Rosemary was born in Grays River, Washington on October 7, 1923, to Lewis and Margrie Irley. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1942. Rosemary went on to attend the University of Portland, St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1946. She was remembered by her classmates as fun loving and a hard worker. While practicing nursing in Portland, she was a member of the United States Cadet Nursing Corp from 1942-1948.
She met the love of her life, Joe Gallinger, in Seaside, Oregon, the summer of 1942 while she worked at Tom and Larrys Candies just off the prom. She married Joe on August 16, 1947, and together they raised a family of 10 children.
She enjoyed swimming, dancing, painting and spending time with her family. Because of her sweet nature, Rosemary was always helping others and putting others needs before her own. In her spare time she replaced the candles at Our Lady of Victory in Seaside, made rosaries and traveled to those meaningful places, Lourdes, Ftima, Medjugorje, and Mexico City to further her understanding of her faith. She will always be remembered as the "Prayer Warrior" in Seaside, Oregon.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Gallinger, son, Paul Gallinger and grandson, Ryley Gallinger-Long.
Her children Mark Gallinger, Jay Gallinger, Margorie Keene, Mary Gallinger, Jeffery Gallinger, Bridget Abbott, Blaze Gallinger, Barbie Pearson and John Gallinger and their respective spouses, survive her. She has twelve grand children and ten great-grand children.
