Shirley Jean Frandsen

Shirley Jean (Wilson) Frandsen passed peacefully on June 28, 2014 at the age of 84 in Seaside, Oregon. She was born September 3, 1929 in Salem, Oregon to George L. and Helmi E. (Sinko) Wilson. Shirley grew up in the Lewis and Clark Young's River area. She attended Battlecreek a one room school and in 1948 graduated from Astoria High School. She was one of four sisters. In the late 40's and early 50's Shirley worked for Bumble Bee Cannery. In 1952 she moved to San Francisco, California with four girlfriends where she worked a clerical position until 1954. On September 24, 1960 she married Dale Rodney Frandsen at Faith Lutheran Church in Astoria, Oregon. She was a bookkeeper for Frandsen's Jewelry. Shirley dedicated several years attending water aerobics and was a proud participant in the "Calendar Girls" fundraiser for the local pool. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her beloved husband Dale Frandsen of Seaside, Oregon, daughter Sally Frandsen of Olympia, Washington, Daughter and son-in-law Angela and Don Beck of Seaside, Oregon, sisters Evelyn Helmhout of Memphis, Tennessee, Greta Passetti of Seaside, Oregon, twin sister Louise Suvan of Bellingham, Washington. Grandchildren Ben and Joel Homolac of Astoria, Oregon, Jessica and her husband Adam Moates of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Amanda Beck of Salem, Oregon. Great Granddaughters Kaitlyn and Madison Moates of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Layla Beck of Salem, Oregon. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 12 2014 at 10:00 AM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Seaside, Oregon. A reception will follow at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Hughes-Ransom Mortuary in Seaside is entrusted with arrangements.
