Sorena Ann Hill

Sorena Ann Hill of Arch Cape, passed away at home with her family by her side on January 9, 2014. She was 74. Sorena was born November 17, 1939, to H. Austin and Letty (Bodholt) Brewer in Coral Gables, Florida. She married Dean Allen Hill in Vancouver, Washington, on June 5, 1961. They have spent the last 52 years together. Sorena received her AA degree in nursing. She was a med/surge nursing supervisor and worked at Tuality Forest Grove Hospital until she retired in 1995. Sorena was very active in her community and was a member of many clubs including: Cannon Beach Library Club, Cannon Beach Garden Club, Haystack Rock Awareness Program, Cannon Beach History House, Arch Cape/Falcon Cove Community Club, and St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank. She was also an active member of St. Peter the Fisherman. Sorena enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, going to as many garage sales as possible, and RV traveling. She is survived by her husband, Dean of Arch Cape; a sister, Charlotte Brewer of Homestead, FL; a daughter, Deana Hill of Kent, WA.; a son & daughter-in-law Matt & Kamela Hill of Lake Oswego; two grandsons, Shane Hill of Kent, WA and Colin Hill of Hillsboro, OR; and a great-granddaughter Mila Hill of Kent, WA. She was preceded in death by her brother Peter Austin Brewer and her son Michael Paul Hill. A Funeral Mass will be held for Sorena on January 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman, 79441 U.S. 101 Arch Cape, OR 97102. A private interment will be at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland. Memorial contributions may be made in Sorena's honor to your local Food Bank.
