It is with great pain and sorrow that we must say goodbye to Timmy A. Michaelson who has passed on to be with his son and our heavenly father after a long hard battle with cancer. Timmy A. Michaelson passed away on September 15, 2023 at the age of 68.
Timmy Aloysius Micahelson was born to Joe Michaelson and Olga (Kameroff) Michaelson on June 17, 1955 in Bethel, Alaska He was the seventh of nine children.
He grew up in Lower Klaskag, Alaska, and later he would venture to Dutch Harbor, Alaska in the late 1970’s. He found work there that kept him returning for three years. While working in Dutch Harbor he met the love of his life, Earlla Qualin.
Timmy A and Earlla married in 1977 in UnAlaska, Alaska. He would then later relocate to the lower 48 to be with her and their growing family. They divorced later in life, but not before raising their children. They welcomed a son, Timothy Earl, in 1978, and a daughter, Heather Alta in 1980.
He worked in various canneries throughout Alaska, Astoria, and Warrenton, Oregon; retiring from the Astoria Golf and Country Club as the prep cook.
His hobbies consisted of fishing, hunting, mushroom foraging, and spending as much time as possible with his children, grandsons, and his little princess, his great granddaughter.
He was a very active member of the AA community. He truly did live his life “One Day at a Time.”
He is survived by his daughter Heather Michaelson, daughter-in-law Summer Michaelson, grandson’s, Hunter (Bryn) Michaelson, Gage Michaelson, and his little princess great granddaughter, Harper Michaelson; Special family members Toni, Mike, and Sean Pomeroy; Alex Cabalona and Levi Qualin. Also survived by the love of his life, Earlla Qualin.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Michaelson.
At Timmy’s request, there will be no celebration of life. If you would like to honor him, please donate in his memory to any AA affiliation in the Astoria or Seaside area.
His ashes will be spread by his family at a later date.
